Checking Out Hanford Technical Library Materials
Borrowing Privileges
PNNL and eligible Hanford Site staff may check out books, standards and technical reports from the HTL circulating collection for 28 days and renew materials up to six times, as long as no other patron has requested the items. Reference materials and journals do not circulate.
PNNL Interns, PNNL Fellows or Collaborators may check out materials, but they must have the HTL User Application card filled out and signed by their sponsor first. The application cards are available at the Circulation Desk or can be sent via plant mail.
WSU-TC students, faculty and staff may check out materials from the HTL circulating collection for 28 days. Undergraduate students may renew items up to three times. Graduate students, staff and faculty may renew materials up to six times, as long as no other patron has requested the materials.
A limit of 50 items may be borrowed at any one time.
Corporate Account holders may check out materials from the HTL circulating collection for 28 days and may renew materials six times. Borrowing privileges will be suspended if materials are not returned or renewed by the due date; suspension of privileges will continue until all materials are returned. 25 items may be borrowed by each card holder at one time. Borrower's cards will be assigned to designated staff; cards may not be shared or interchanged during the account year (October-September). The card cannot be delegated to another individual.
Requests and PINs
To request or renew books via Leona, the Hanford Technical Library catalog, users must establish a PIN for Leona. To set up your PIN, call the Circulation Desk Monday through Friday 8-5.
Requested books are usually mailed directly to your office. If you would prefer to pick up items at the Circulation Desk, please state that on your request.
Renewals
PNNL and Hanford Site staff may renew HTL books up to six times, as long as they haven't been requested by another borrower.
WSU-TC graduate students, faculty and staff may renew items up to six times, as long as they haven't been requested by another borrower. WSU-TC undergraduate students may renew items up to 3 times as long as they haven't been requested by another borrower.
Corporate Account holders may renew HTL materials six times as long as the materials have not been requested by another borrower.
Renewals can be made by telephone, mail, via Leona (PIN needed), email or by staff at the Circulation Desk.email or by staff at the Circulation Desk.
Lost Books
Damage or replacement fees, plus processing costs will be charged to borrowers when books charged out to them are lost or damaged beyond repair when returned to the library. See Library Fee Schedule for more information.
Checking out WSU Tri-Cities Materials
PNNL and eligible Hanford Site staff may check out WSU Tri-Cities books for a 30-day loan period but first need to fill out a WSU application card. The application card can be returned via plant mail (P8-55) or in person at the Circulation Desk.
